AYON Ecosystem operates ayonecosystem.com and builds the AYON Wind mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Information we collect on the website
- The pages you visit and how you got here (via privacy-respecting analytics — aggregate, not personally identifying).
- Anything you send us by email through contact@withayon.com.
- Server access logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp) retained briefly for security and abuse prevention.
The website does not require an account.
Information we collect in the AYON Wind app
- Account information you provide when you sign up (email; optional profile photo and display name).
- Your riding profile: skill level, kite quiver, home spots — all editable and deletable by you.
- GPS position while you record a downwind session (kept in your own account; used to compute your ride and, if you turn it on, mirror your coarse latest position onto a share link you created).
- Subscription status via App Store / RevenueCat.
The app does not sell rider data. Live position sharing is per-ride, per-rider consent, and always coarse (spot-level or a single latest point). See the AYON Wind Guided Share and Group Downwind features for the specifics.
How we use information
- To operate the app: forecasts, kite-size recommendations, route planning, session tracking.
- To make live sharing work while a rider has it turned on.
- To respond to your emails.
- To improve the product in aggregate (which spots have the most active riders, which routes are most planned).
We do not use rider data for advertising and do not share it with advertisers.
How we share information
- With service providers strictly needed to operate the product: Firebase (authentication, database), Expo (push notifications), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Open-Meteo (public forecast data).
- When you explicitly share (e.g., a guided share link, a public group downwind plan) — only what you chose to share.
- When required by law.
We do not sell personal data.
Your controls
- Edit or delete your profile in the app.
- Turn off live position sharing at any time — the marker disappears immediately.
- Delete your account entirely by emailing contact@withayon.com.
- Contact us for any privacy question or request.
Children
The AYON Wind app is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
When we change this policy in a material way we will update the 'last updated' date at the top and, for logged-in app users, surface the change in the app.
