What the footage shows
This is the footage behind the research field note on Hurricane Marie. It was shot on the sand at The Wedge on 6 September 2026, the second day of the swell, at the hour the log records: buoy 46222 at San Pedro read 1.2 m at 13 s from 167°, the Open-Meteo model for the same point gave 1.7 m at 12.7 s from 186°, and the witness account reads "untypical day, waves are huge, offshore winds and rainy sometimes, rainbows".
What the video shows is the gap those numbers cannot: The Wedge's jetty reflection turning a 1.2–1.7 m open-water swell into well-overhead wedges, with a boat holding outside and a lifeguard line on the sand (both noted in the field log for that hour). A generic forecast calls this day "4–6 ft". The spot calls it huge. That difference is the reason AYON Wave keeps a per-spot record and field-verifies it.
